Short answer: Short answer: We jump light, medium and heavy duty batteries, from sedans to semis. If the vehicle still won’t start, we can tow it. Call (561) 680-6198 at any hour.
Which vehicles do we jump start?
| Battery type | Common vehicles |
|---|---|
| Light duty | Cars, SUVs, minivans, pickups |
| Medium duty | Box trucks, step vans, motorhomes, shuttle buses |
| Heavy duty | Semis, dump trucks, buses, large farm trucks |
Tell the dispatcher which type you have, so the driver brings the right equipment.
Is it the battery or something else?
- Clicking, dim lights, slow crank: usually a weak or dead battery. A jump start often works.
- No lights and no sound at all: could be a dead battery or a loose or corroded connection.
- Engine cranks normally but won’t start: usually not the battery. It may be fuel or a mechanical problem, so a tow may be needed.
- Starts after a jump, then dies again: the battery or the charging system may be failing. Have it checked soon.
When should you not jump a battery?
- If the battery case is cracked, swollen or leaking. Keep away from it and call us.
- If you smell rotten eggs or see smoke near the battery.
- If the battery cables are damaged.
- If you are not sure which terminal is which. Wait for the driver.
What should I do while I wait?
- If the vehicle is on the road, turn on the hazard lights if they still work and move to a safe spot away from traffic.
- Turn off the lights, the radio and the air conditioning.
- Have the hood release ready, and know where the battery is if it isn’t under the hood.
- If anyone is hurt or a child or pet is in a hot car, call 911 first.
Florida’s Move Over law requires drivers to move over a lane, or slow to 20 mph below the posted limit, for stopped tow trucks and disabled vehicles with warning lights.
What if the jump start doesn’t work?
If the vehicle won’t start or won’t stay running, we can tow it to a repair shop or the address you choose. See towing services for every size of vehicle.
