What should I tell the dispatcher?

What if I put the wrong fuel in?
Don’t start the engine. Running a gas engine on diesel, or a diesel engine on gas, can damage it. Call us, and we can tow the vehicle to a repair shop to have the tank drained. See car and SUV towing.
How do I stay safe while I wait?
- Pull as far off the road as you can and turn on the hazard lights.
- Don’t smoke, and keep any open flame away from the vehicle.
- If you get out, use the side away from traffic and wait well off the road.
- On a highway, don’t walk along the shoulder to find a gas station. Wait for help.
Florida’s Move Over law requires drivers to move over a lane, or slow to 20 mph below the posted limit, for stopped tow trucks and disabled vehicles with warning lights.
What if the vehicle won’t start after refueling?
Some diesel engines need the fuel system primed after running dry, and some vehicles have a second problem that caused the stop. If it won’t start, we can jump the battery or tow the vehicle.
